The Alegría Ensemble presents Ravel’s Chansons Madécasses, and songs for piano trio and voice by Amy Beach and Roger Quilter. This concert is about the spirituality of the earth and its duplexity: A centuries old story of humankind’s longing to experience nature’s peace, and the tragedy that results when humans try to dominate nature and each other.
